Sara Morganti has once again confirmed her status as one of Italy’s leading equestrian stars by claiming her latest podium finish with a bronze medal in the Paradressage at the European Championships in Deauville, France.
French soil certainly brings the best out of the Italian horsewoman, who went into the European Championships boosted by her gold medal at the last World Championships in Normandy and where she also won a silver medal.
Yesterday, Morganti was competing with her trusted mount Royal Delight and will be delighted to claim another podium finish in the free-style IA category.
Taking the gold medal meanwhile was Britain’s Sophie Christiansen with Athene Lindenbjerg after a score of 80.7% while the silver was won by Anne Dunham with Ljt Lucas Normark after a score of 76.3%.
Focusing back to Morganti, her podium finish means she and Royal Delight take another step towards qualification to the 2016 Paralympics in Rio de Janeiro.
As for fellow Italian Francesca Salvadè, she can be pleased with her fifth place finish in the freestyle second category with Muggel 4 while the winner was Holland’s Rixt van der Horst with Uniek NOP. Second place and third place went to Britain’s Natasha Baker with Sookie St James and Germany’s Steffen Zeibig with Feel Good 4 respectively.
Italy’s Antonella Cecilia with Ubacho was also in good form and she reached the final of her category, the freestyle IB, and took fifth place. The winner however was Pepo Puch with Fine Feeling S, second Lee Pearson with Zion (74,05%) and third Nicole Den Dulk with Wallance NOP.
