There are just 24 hours to go until the start of the Paralympics which will kick-off with the opening ceremony tomorrow. As for the equestrian discipline, a total of 29 nations will be represented and amongst the top seeds we find Team GB.
Watch out for Britain’s Sophie Christiansen who is the current title holder for the freestyle and individual in grade 1A. Belgium will also be looking to have their say while Germany’s Hannelore Brenner will sadly miss out because of an injury to her performer.
Rix van der Horst, World Champion at the WEG in 2014, meanwhile is set for her Paralympics debut as Italy’s hopes pass through Sara Morganti who is currently second in the world rankings.
This year’s games will mark 20 years of equestrian events at the Paralympics with the competitions and trials set to take place at the Deodoro Equestrian Centre.
