She may possess a sweet smile but that belies a steely determination on the part of Jane Richard.The 25-year-old Swiss rider who has a home in Italy made a positive debut at a Piazza di Siena and demonstrated her ability to compete on the international stage.In Sunday’s difficult Grand Prix, which was made even more technically demanding by Chef d’Equipe Uliano Vezzani, riding Zekina z, Jane cleared the first round with no penalty points and dislodged just one hurdle in the second round.That solid performance performance saw her finish in an excellent tenth place overall. She also performed well in the 1.45 and 1.50 metre events. In the Nations Cup, Jane was on Jalla de Gaverie and although suffered eight penalties in the first round finished the second with a clear round. The Swiss team which also included Christina Liebherr on L.B. Robin Hood, Clarissa Crotta on West Side V. Meerputhoeve, Daniel Etter on Peu a Peu finished third in the ROLEX FEI NATIONS CUP.
