Polo: Hot Conejos triumph at 2017 Coppa Italia F.I.S.E

The ninth edition of the Coppa Italia F.I.S.E, the international polo tournament organised in collaboration with the Italian Equestrian Games Federation, came to a close over the weekend.
Taking the victory in the prestigious competition were the Belgian outfit Hot Conejos. The Belgian team were taking part for the first time at the pitches of Piane and defeated the 2016 winners La Nuova Poncia to lift the trophy.
Overall six teams were in action over the 2 week period but in the end the impressive displays of Hot Conejos took everyone by surprise and saw the Belgian outfit take home the prize.
In a positive sign for the future, there were three 15 year-olds taking part in the final Bautista Riglos, Leon De Cloedt and Lucas Bertola as well as the 18 year-old Lucien De Cloedt. Alongside their more experienced colleagues they won plenty of plaudits for their lively displays.
The crowd turned out in their numbers for the important polo event and will no doubt already be looking forward to next year’s edition of the competition. For more, see below:
