POLO: Italian Cup FISE Trophy SNAI 2009
The results from the Argentario Polo Club where the semi-finals of the Italian Cup FISE Trophy SNAI 2009 were played were as follows:Province of Grosseto Trophy – Three team round-robin over two halves:
First match – IRON CAVE 4 – LANCIA 3
Second match – DANDIES 3 – IRON CAVE 2
Third match – LANCIA 3 – DANDIES 2
All three teams finished on equal points, so the tournèe was decided on goal difference in favour of Iron Cave.To Be G Trophy final
MOONLOOKER 6 – LA BRUJA 4
After an evenly balanced opening to the match, Moonlooker took a slight lead two minutes into the second half, to then increase their advantage at the third chukka, thus closing the door on Bruja. Oritz and Ferrari stood out for Moonlooker, scoring their side’s six goals between them.Semi-final Lancia Trophy
GREEN SEASON 11 – GINEVRA II 4 ½
From the opening exchanges it was clear that the Milanese side Green Season were significantly superior, scoring three goals in the first chukka. The side from Milan did not let up the scoring, led by Italian-Argentine Julio Coria with nine goals, while denying Ginevra II the chance to reply. Semi-final Italian Cup F.I.S.E. – SNAI Trophy
LA MIMOSA 7 – LA GINEVRA I 5
The two strongest sides of the tournament clashed and neither the Roman outfit Ginevra I, captained by Luca D’Orazio, nor the Milanese La Mimosa, led by Stefania Annunziata, managed to impose themselves in the opening encounters. However, La Mimosa began to take stranglehold on proceedings and led by two goals before the end of the first period, keeping that lead intact until the fourth period. Ginevra then mounted a sterling comeback but were caught out in the final three minutes by the excellent Federico Teves, the 2009 Italian Champion.
