Polo: Italy defeated by Spain in Vienna

Following their exellent victory over Austria (13-4,5) in the opening match of the European Champinships taking place in Vienna Italy were then defeated in game two by a vibrant Spain by 6-9.Captain D’Orazio’s usual determination was not enough this time to see off the Spanish armada. Italy are still on course, though, to qualify for the knock out phases of the tournament in a competiton that sees ten teams divided into two groups.In the same group as Italy, Austria and Spain are also Slovacchia and reigning champs England who this year are competing with an entirely female team. The other group is made up of France, Germany, Hungary, Holland and Switzerland.
