Polo: Results from Day 4

The fourth day of the Julius Baer Spring Polo Gold Cup 2009, played in Costa Smeralda saw the duel between the two Roman captains Rommy Gianni and Luca D’Orazio, from Audi Polo Team and Julius Baer Polo Team. The two were both finalists of the Cortina Winter Polo Audi Gold Cup where Rommy Gianni’s team took the top prize after golden goals. The first match scheduled between the two in the qualifying round of this tournament went to team Julius Baer by 7-6 with the Argentine Juan Josè Branè scorer of five goals. The second game of the day was a goal fest with Cortina Polo Style Team just edging Villa A Sesta Polo Team by 10-9. Nicolas Espain Gastaldi, for Cortina Polo Style, managed nine goals while Eduardo Menendez scored eight for Villa A Sesta. The two now lead the top scorers charts with 14 goals apiece. Today, Thursday 28th May, only one match is scheduled between Cortina Polo Style Team and Sansui Polo Team to start at 18.00.
