RACING IN SARDINIA

Between 23rd and 24th May an event at the Sardinia and Horses in Oristano will take place. It will be a prelude to the CSIO in the Siena Piazza in Rome. It is a part of the ASSI circuit. The result will lead to regional selections for the event at the Olivastri circuit. Gianleonardo Murruzzu will lead the team as captain, along with Giovanni Carboni, Raffaela Montis and Emanuele Lampis. The quartet preceded the team in Usignolo di Santa Giusta, captained by Roberto Pau. Results from the ASSI saw Michele Carta on Qualità, Gianleonardo Murruzzu on Quanito Sauro and Piero Pala on Quercia del Monte Acuto obtain net results. The “5 year elite” prize over two days was won by Angela Lanzetta on Pepper, Roberto Pau on Parsimonioso and Alberto Sanna Randaccio on Passo di Danza. In the “6 years elite” no one managed to record a net result so Saturday’s trial went to both Ortenzia ridden by Francesco Iriu and Olimpius on Filippo Saanna Randaccio. In Sunday’s “clear round” four pairs starred: Roberto Pau on Oltreluna, Francesco Iriu on Orma, Piero Pala on Olivurd and Andrea Deledda on Ocean Girl. Finally the “7 consecutive years” saw Marco Pau win on Phaedrus ahead of his brother Roberto on Nuncamiedo. The “7 years mixed” went to Antonello Pinna on Nobile Nettuno and Pau and Nuncamiedo were second once more. In the open competitions Gianbattista Pala on Infedele del Terriccio and Gianleonardo Murruzzu on Quartier Latin won awards. The second stage of the ASSI Sardinia tour is scheduled for June 7th-9th at Chilivani, organized by the Ozierese equestrian centre.
