Reining: Italy take bronze at European Championships

The Italian Reining team have finished in third place in the senior category at the European Championships in Givrins, Switzerland.
The team led by coach Marco Manzi racked up a total score of 659.5 and just missed out on second place to Germany who scored 660. Belgium meanwhile took the gold medal with a score of 667 points.
Team Italy were made up as follows: Gennaro Lendi, Kelly Zweifel, Gugliemo Fontana and Pierluigi Chioldo.
Speaking afterwards, Marco Manzi praised his team on the result although he struggled to contain his disappointment for missing out so narrowly on the silver medal.
Gennaro Lendi was delighted with the result and also praised his horse Marilyn Monwhoa for its performance. Lendi will now be turning his attention to the individual event.
In other Equestrian World, the action continues today for the second individual qualifiers ahead of Saturday’s final.
