The exciting CSIO5* Derby of Pays de la Lore region took place this afternoon in La Baule.
Nineteen combinations started in this 1000 meters long course over 1,45m-high fences, with natural obstacles including two banks and a lake to jump, which proved itself a true challenge. Four riders were disqualified, one retired.
The only rider to finish the course without a single fault was Colombia’s René Lopez. He won in 139,48 seconds with his 10-year-old Dutch-bred mare Destiny’s Child.
French rider Harold Boisset and Vakhenaton took the second place for France in 137,63 seconds, the fastest time but with four penalties. Switzerland’s Steve Guerdat followed in third place with Venard de Cerisy.
Philippe Rozier from France completed the course with 24 penalties atop of Reveur de Kergane, while European champion Peder Fredricson on H&M Carat Desire was disqualified.
