Riding ‘adagio’ in the Bolognese Appennines

From Friday12 to Sunday 14 June, 2009 a journey on horseback called ‘Riding adagio in the Bolognese Appennines, included in the ‘Equestrian Tourism Project by F.I.S.E. Emilia Romagna Committee, will take place.The initiative which has been put together in collaboration with Appennino Slow to celebrate the ‘Emilia Romagna Appennines Green Day’, with the aim of developing forms of equestrian tourism to integrate with other touristic activities which promote and develop the districts visited. FISE trainer Lanfranco Longhi will be the organiser and leader of the horse ride.On horse, foot or by bicycle or vintage car from Sasso Marconi to Castiglione dei Pepoli travelling through the districts of Monzuno, Loiano and San Benedetto Val di Sambro, to discover the taste of a warm welcome, the pleasure of socialising and the local fetes slowly, at ease across unexpected landscapes. AdAgio allows you to visit a rich blending of rural and town environments, almost a complete compendium of what the Appennine is all about on both fronts: from rolling countryside, to gorges and chestnut copses, to oak and beech woods, all the way to lush meadows. AdAgio offers the chance to discover the concept of travelling, even better if done slowly, in contrast to the mere shifting from one place to another, discovering the proper way to travel, almost a philosophy, characterised by sharing emotion, discovery, spellbound images and also effort.
