Rio 2016: Equestrian competions still on standby
Equestrian World that the Olympic Games in Rio 2016 may have to do without the equestrian sports because the rules at the moment do not allow horses from Europe to enter Brazil, is starting to cause some serious concern.
There have been delays with the Brazilian Agriculture Ministry for delays in issuing the documentation needed to allow horses brought into Brazil from Europe, the United States and Canada to enter and leave the country.
Negotiations are ongoing, with the last meeting held at the beginning of September and also the president of the Brazilian Equestrian Federation, Luiz Robert Giugni, has admitted that they are behind with the vetinary protocols that would allow the animals in and out of the country, there is optimism that all will be approved ahead of the games next year.
