Charlotte Dujardin is still the queen of dressage after the first individual day as she chases another medal and a possible new record.
Charlotte Dujardin and Valegro are in Rio de Janeiro to defend their Olympic title won at the London Games four years ago, and the British duo reached the final with a score 85,071 in the qualification round.
Behind them are a trio of riders from Germany: Kristina Bröring Sprehe with Desperados FRH (2nd place), Dorothee Schneider with Showtime (3rd) and Isabell Werth on Weihegold, who are serious candidates for the team title: the Germans are in fact, on top of the provisional standings with the overall points of 81,295, followed by the GB (79,252) and the USA (76,971).
Our own Valentina Truppa is in 52th place, obtained with the 65,971 score.
Scheduled next are the second dressage test with the Special Grand Prix and the presentation of the medals for the team trials.
