After the winter break, the Capannelle race-track in Rome opens its doors again to the public today the 1st of March. A gallop trial will inaugurate the start of a long and rich season of events (the trotting begins on Wednesday the 4th of March) which leads all the way to the important 132nd edition of the Nastro Azzurro on the 17th of May. Before all of that though there is also the Derby Day to keep fans entertained and much more.
The senior manager of the race track Elio Pautasso spoke ahead of the new season: “This is the one in which our racetrack presents itself in all of its glory and the turnout from the public is clearly significant. We have created a new sand-course entirely for children’s activities, and with the pony trials, they will have the chance to take their first steps in the equestrian world. We are working not only on a programme dedicated to the high quality of the racing, but also family and children’s entertainment encouraging them to spend their weekends at the race track.“
