After yesterday’s press conference, which saw some representatives from the Italy side meet up with the gathered journalists, the Rome CSIO 2014 will officially get underway today. The head coach Hans Horn and international course designer and creator of the circuit for the event in Rome Uliano Vezzani were both on hand as well at the press conference.
With the elimination of night races after the requests from the riders, there’s high expectations and optimism ahead of Friday’s trials. The hope for Italy is to bring home a good result and one to watch out for is Lorenzo De Luca who is in good form and has been picking up a series of good results while the same also applies to Emanuele Gaudiano.
However, let’s focus on today’s schedule. There are just 3 races scheduled for today. The first one begins at 11.30 and is a two phase trial from 1.40m followed by a timed trial from 1.45m at 14.15. The day comes to a close with the main event at 16.45 from 1.50m which is a qualifier for the GP and is valid for the Longines ranking list.
