After the excellent results for Italy on Friday, yesterday was another positive day for the azzurri riders with Emanuele Gaudiano taking the final podium slot in the Grand Show Jumping Hunting Competition of Solbau GmbH over 1.45m with his bay gelding Caesario 6 (Cornet Obolensky). The Italian rider scored a clear and was only beaten by Belgium’s Gregory Wathelet, second with Egano van het Slogenhof (Electro), and Germany’s Hans-Dieter Dreher who was the winner with his mount Callisto (Casall). There was also another podium finish for Italy in the main event, the Prize of the Grand Hotel Les Trois Rois over 1.50m with jump-off. This time it was Piergiorgio Bucci who impressed amongst the Italian riders, taking second place with his mount Catwalk Z (Carthago). The Italian pair committed no errors in what was an excellent display in the final phase, recording a time that was just 0.23 seconds behind the winning pair Portugal’s Luciana Diniz and Winningmood (Darco). The final podium slot was taken by Ukraine’s Katharina Offel with one of her favourite mounts Charlie (Cornet Obolensky). The performer was strongly wanted by the Ukrainian horsewoman and she was able to convince her sponsor Olexandr Onyshschenko to make the purchase.
