
Show Jumping: 300 young prospects on show at the Horse Riviera Resort

Tomorrow, September 9, is the opening day of the Horse Riviera Resort, the Italian Young Rider, Junior and Children Show Jumping Championship at San Giovanni in Marignano where 300 riders aged between 14 and 21 will tackle the jumps until Sunday, September 13. The futuristic riding centre of the Ferretti family is the apt place where the action which will indicate Italy’s future champions will unfold. The RacesFive divisions and three championships all held over three challenges: the first against the clock, the second over two runs and the final to crown the champion. Defending champions, Eleonora Zorzetto (Young Riders), Stefania Fida (Children) and Filippo Codecasa (Junior) will have their work cut out to repeat last year’s success. From Wednesday 9 to Friday 11 the riders will face the race against the clock and the two runs, while the first finals will be on Saturday for first degree Juniors and Young Riders, followed by the remaining finals on Sunday. But the event does not only deal with show jumping as their will be a dog agility competition, a falconry exhibition, an award ceremony for the silver and bronze medal winning Italian Junior and Young Riders from Hoofddorp, Netherlands and a dressage display by Olympic medalist Piero Sangiorgio.
