The WEG this year will be experienced also and especially on social media: the Twitter account of the event had 7,800 followers at the beginning of the games, a number that has since grown to 11,500. 40% of the followers are located in France, 17% in Britain, 9% from the USA and 6% from Holland. 
Instagram has 10,000 subscriptions but above all the most popular has been the application for iPhone and Android with 60,000 downloads and 750,000 daily visits. 
These are just some of the numbers that relate to the media coverage of this event on social networks, which offer followers exclusive content such as photos, videos and comments from the athletes.
