Spring Polo Gold Cup gets underway

The Julius Baer Spring Polo Gold Cup 2009 got underway on Sunday with a qualification round.The event which is taking place on the Emerald Coast in Sardinia brings together the top teams in the world and the first game finished in a 7-7 draw on Sunday evening between Operae Polo Team led by French rider Franck Dubarry and Villa A Sesta Polo Team captained by Italian Gualtiero Giori who fought back in the second chukker thanks to the performance of the Eduardo and Francisco Menendez brothers. The second game also finished in a draw, this time 5-5 between Cortina Polo Style Team, under Russian Dimitry Vozianov and Julius Baer Polo Team captained by the Romanian Luca D’Orazio.
