Stars gearing up in Montefalco ahead of Piazza di Siena

Luca Marziani is getting ready ahead of Piazza di Siena. This weekend he will be featuring in the Montefalco International Sagrantino Tour at Le Lame equestrian centre.
After the success in the 1,45 mt class “ranking points“ aboard Dont’Worry B, the Italian rider earned a fourth place in today’s 1.40mt class with Saxo des Hayettes.
Sweden’s 43-year-old Malin Baryard Johnsson, who has competed in four World Championships and four Olympic Games clinching two silver medals respectively, took top honours atop of H&M Second Chance.
Paolo Adorno also won in the 145 “ranking points“ aboard Fer ZG on Thursday. The target of the Sicily-born rider at Villa Borghese, being Rome his adopted city, will be the Six Barriers on Saturday.
Before the competition in Rome, the last challenge will be in Montefalco, with the 1.50 mt Grand Prix. Giulia Martinengo Marquet will also be competing. The Italian show jumping queen, who has been named for the Nations Cup in Rome, stood out in the International Sagrantino Tour, clinching the second place aboard Elzas in the 145 class won by Marziani. And after her exploit in the Italian Championships with Verdine SZ, she could also repeat in Montefalco.
However, it is difficult to make any prediction on the Grand Prix at the Horses Le Lame Sporting Club, with over 50 horse-and-rider combinations at the start.
