The CSI5* Brussels Stephex Masters came to a close with an in-form Lucy Davis adding another trophy to her growing collection by riding to victory in the Rolex GP.
Davis was competing with her mount Barron and takes home a cool 33.233,49 euros in prize money after finishing ahead of Egypt’s Karim El Zoghby in second and a super Piergiorgio Bucci who took the final podium slot.
Following behind in fourth we find USA’s Kent Farrington, the two Dutchmen Maikel van der Vleuten and Harrie Smolders in fifth and seventh place respectively with Frenchman Kevin Staut sandwiched in between in sixth place. Germany’s Philipp Weishaupt came in eighth place, Belgian rider Gudrun Patteet ninth and Britain’s Scott Brash in tenth.
Italy, in addition to Bucci’s great third place finish, also had Lorenzo De Luca in 12th place. De Luca was beaten by his Stephex Stables team-mate Daniel Deusser however who came in 11th place. The other Italian rider taking part Francesco Franco came in 42nd place. Click here to see a full list of the standings: http://stephexmasters.com/userfiles/file/wedstrijd/RClassE-GP.PDF
The good Equestrian World kept on coming for Italian equestrianism and in particular the horse breeding sector. In fact, in the CSI2* Super Cup final over 1.45m Zoe Conter came out on top with Italian bred Zeta di Sabuci. For the young Conter, riding on home soil, it was the second win in quick succession much to the delight of her family after also winning the Youngster Final earlier in the week.
Born in 2005 Zeta di Sabuci was raised at the Sabuci Breeding Farm by Raffaele Aprile in Sicily and is daughter to the renowned Belgian stallion Kannan. The horse is now based at Stephan Conter’s headquarters and is really starting to show all of its potential.
