The Longines Global Champions Tour season may still be ongoing, but the compelling global event is always striving to get better and looking for new ways to increase its appeal.
From 2019, there will also be a new stop-off on the prestigious tour with Stockholm set to be added to the season schedule in two years’ time.
The suggestive Swedish capital becomes the latest new destination for the Longines Global Champions Tour following in the footsteps of other popular tourist hot-spots such as Miami Beach, Shanghai, London, Berlin, Mexico City, Paris and Rome which have all been added in recent years.
As announced by the man behind the Longines Global Champions Tour Jan Tops, Sweden is one of the world leaders in the equestrian field with the cities of Falsterbo and Gothenburg renowned for hosting show-jumping events. The highly anticipated event in Stockholm will be named as the Stockholm Summer Horse Week and in addition to show-jumping competitions will also host dressage competitions.
