Team Fipa Group win Versilia Tuscany Beach Polo Cup

The beach at Lido di Camaiore welcomed the sixth edition of the Versilia Tuscany Beach Polo Cup in where the crowds turned out to watch the international tournament.Team Fipa Group defeated Team Coci srl 7-4 in the final and the Fipa patron.Francesco Guidetti and Coci srl president Enrico Ognibene were present to thank the competitors for taking part.The founder of the Versilia Tuscany Beach Polo Cup Patrizia Lencioni was also there along with Equestrian Federation president Massimo Petaccia and all agreed that it was “a well-contested final full of passion which highlighted that Versilia was one of the most important locations for international polo tournaments.”The final really came to life in the second chukker, when the team led by Luke the Evangelist Coci Horace seemed to regain all the ground lost in the first chukker, thanks to Fabrizio Bulgarini (three of the four goals scored bore his signature). Until the last, team captain Matteo Beffa (Swiss like his team-mate Cedric Schweri) was closely marked, but he never succumbed to the pressure, whilst maintaining a strong stick control while the Argentine Riglos Martin, author of six of the seven goals, was the true stand-out of the competition.The contest for third and fourth place was played out over three exciting chukkers. A draw earned all six players from the Villa Ariston and Dr. Vranjes teams the award. Argentine Marcos Antinori scored a stunning equaliser late on to make it 8-8.All the players impressed but particular mention must go not only to Antinori but also Therence Cusmano. Both scored seven goals between them and the final two for their teams.
