Team GB opt out of 2017 Euros

There is exactly a week to go until the start of the FEI European Championships 2017 which will be held in Gothenburg.
But ahead of the major event, the big Equestrian World is that Great Britain will not be taking part in the team-competition in Sweden meaning fans won’t be treated to the performances of British stars like Scott Brash, Ben Maher and Jessica Mendoza.
The official reason behind the decision is the fact that GB wishes to focus all of its efforts on the final of the Nations Cup scheduled for the end of September in Barcelona.
Only two British athletes then will be present in the form of Michael and William Whitaker who will be in action in the individual category.
