The EEF launched a new team development competition series for Jumping this summer and is delighted to announce the concept will now be expanded to dressage too.
The EEF’s clear aim is to inspire the growth and accessibility of equestrian sport, and these new development competitions are central to this. The EEF Evolution team competitions offer a new format in lower levels of international shows to enable horses and riders to gain experience and allow team events to be accessed by various competition categories.
The format has already been launched for Jumping with competitions across three classes, and the first event was successfully held in Bojourishte in early June. The concept is now confirmed to be used in dressage in which teams will be formed of one pony, children, junior and Young Rider/Senior rider. Teams can be made of riders from different nationalities to encourage camaraderie and shared learning across the different categories of competition. In line with the Jumping competitions, the Dressage format will be tested at events in 2022 with a plan to create a complete series with a final in 2023 under the EEF Evolution Series marque.
In parallel to Jumping, the EEF Evolution League will also be a key education tool for officials, with specific opportunities made to develop their experience and learn through organised seminars and mentoring programmes.
The new EEF Evolution Dressage competition can be seen this week in Tsaratsovo, Bulgaria and watched live on the EEF website https://www.euroequestrian.eu/en/Events/Watch-live.html
