After a week’s break, top-level sport returns to the Côte d’Azur. The doors to the Hubside Jumping Grimaud – Golfe de St Tropez open again to welcome the last two weekends of the Hubside Fall Tour, firstly from the 7th to the 10th of October and then from the 14th to the 17th of October. This week, 3 levels of competition are on the programme with a CSI 1*, a CSI 2* and a CSI 4*, in which, as always, the World’s elite will be present.
The World’s best show-jumping riders feel at home on the Riviera! It’s illustrated by their loyalty to the Hubside Jumping Grimaud – Golfe de Saint-Tropez. The event promises great competition with 12 riders out of the World top 30 on the start list at this week’s CSI 4*. Among the international champions to be closely watched, Belgians Jos Verlooy and Gregory Wathelet, 3rd in the team competition and 9th in the individual competition at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games, and very recently 3rd in the legendary Aix-la-Chapelle Grand Prix, Dutchman Harrie Smolders, winner of the Nations Cup final in Barcelona last weekend, or the Americans Laura Kraut and Lillie Keenan. The Swiss flag will be defended by its two biggest ambassadors, the 2012 Olympic champion Steve Guerdat (n°10 in the World), winner of both the CSI 2* and the CSI 5* Grand Prix at Grimaud on the 26th of September, and Martin Fuchs (n°3) who’s bringing Conner Jei with whom he won the CSI 5* Grand Prix at Dinard last July.
As for riders representing the home nation, the best will also be attending with notably the entire gold medal winning team at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games, Pénélope Leprevost, Kévin Staut (n°9), Roger-Yves Bost and Philippe Rozier. Simon Delestre, 3rd in the last Grand Prix of the CSI 5* in Grimaud (26th of September), Julien Epaillard, author of numerous successful performances over the last few weeks with notably 3 victories last weekend at the CSI 3* in Gorla Minore but also two others in the CSI 2* and CSI 5* at Grimaud (23rd and 26th  of September), Edward Levy, Nicolas Delmotte and Bruno Garez, who’ll be riding his remarkable United Sunheup (4th and best French performance in the 1.60m CSI 5* Grand Prix on the 19th of September) will also be present. Also flying the flag for France in the CSI 2* and CSI 4* will be Sadri Fegaier, chairman and founder of the Hubside Jumping Grimaud-Golfe de St Tropez
There’s no doubt that first-rate sport is on the cards in the CSI 1*, CSI 2* and CSI 4* with, as course designer, France’s Gregory Bodo !
