The Italian national anthem rings out loud at Comporta
The Italy team outshone all-comers at the Children’s Cup of Nations with eight penalties in two rounds. The team was made up of Marcello Manganotti on Amazone (4/4), Alice Sultan on Simsalabim (0/0), Alice Lazzarini on Orvil J (12/4), Matias Alvaro on Elitloppet (0/0) and team leader Gianluca Bormioli. Spain came second with nine penalty points and third, Portugal with 17. Also the Italians dominated the Junior Grand Prix (15 starters) thanks to a clear second round by Emanuele Bianchi on Rendez Vous in 79.82 seconds. Second Francesca Ciriesi on Miss Saigon (4 in 73.89), third Beatrice Guidi on Monday du Bois Philip (4 in 75.29) and fourth Niccolo Vincenzo Callerio on Hirchcock (4 in 75.74).
Robert Bernasconi on Idoline de St Claire (0/0 in 38.02) finished fourth in the Children’s Grand Prix (24 starters) which was won by Spain’s Pedro Mateos Rodriguez on Emperador VL with 0/0 in 35.67. Marcello Manganotti on Amazone with 0/4 in 36.29 came 7th. The CSIO di Comporta ended with the Junior Cup of Nations (3 participating nations) which saw yet another Italian triumph. The Azzurri stepped onto the top of the Portugueuse podium with 20 penalty points. The team was made up of team leader Gianluca Bormioli, Nicolo Vincenzo Callerio on Celentano 26 (4/4), Silvana Bonazzi on Uberlina K (12/0), Beatrice Guidi on Karioso Manciais (4/4) and Francesca Ciriesi on Que Sera (4/8). Second place went to Portugal and third to Spain with 21 and 29 faults respectively.
