Updates from the NRHA Championship

The National Reining Horse Association Championship continued yesterday at the Kreuth Arena in Germany with the Consolation Open category and the Non Pro category. In addition, the pairs that will be taking part in the final of the National Reining Horse Association European Futurity this Saturday have also been confirmed. The final of the KL Performance Horses Non Pro meanwhile will take place on Friday while the Open category will take place on Saturday with entrance free to the public.
Yesterday’s events on the other hand lived up to all expectations, starting with the NRHA Euro 5,000 Added Open 5&Up category. 31 pairs took part in the competition which ended in a points draw between Nina Lill on GR Hug a Jewel (Solanoswarlee Boy x Katie Gun and owned by Vanety Korbus) and Bernard Fonck with The Cocked Gun (Gallo Del Cielo x Katie Gun and owned by Gildo and Giuliano Mercuri). Both riders ended up with a points score of 221 but declined to take part in a knock-out head to head and instead share the title as joint champions. The Cocked Gun has recently joined Bernard Fonck’s team and after only 6 weeks has already made a very promising start. Morey Fisk on Oakies Red Berry (Country Bay Berry x WB Miss Docs Oak) took third place.
The Arcese Euro 800-added Novice Horse Non Pro L2 category was another competition taking place yesterday which saw 32 pairs competing for the prize which was eventually won by Susy Baeck on Donna Arc Escapes BB (Don Quixote Escapes x Arcy Cutter King BB).
