WEG Horse-Ball: the hosts France triumph in front of home crowd

3,000 fans were on hand to watch the final matches of Horse-Ball in which France put the support of the home crowd to good use to take the win in the exhibition tournament in both the female and mixed team event.  
The ladies were the first to take to the pitch and beat Spain in the final 7-0. (2-0 at half-time). It was then the turn of the mixed teams to enter the arena and once again it was France versus Spain in the final with a victory for the hosts.
Italy were also taking part in the 3rd/4th play-off. In the mixed competition Italy fell to a narrow 7-6 defeat to Belgium while there was better Equestrian World in the female event which saw the Italians come out on top with a 5-4 win.
Despite not taking the overall win, Italy demonstrated itself a side capable of competing with the very best and the signs are positive for the future.
