Wellington, Breitling LS good mood ahead of World Cup Finals

The Winter Equestrian Festival has come to its final week. The event which is considered in the US the world’s premier show during the cold season schedules the CSI5* in its 12th week at the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center in Wellington.
On Thursday, the usual “Lunch & Learn Series“ is dedicated to the nutrition of the horse.
Competition restarts the following day, with the Friday Night Stars of the Nations Cup CDIO3*. This event is awaited with great curiosity because it is the first step of preparation for the US teams ahead of WEG 2018.
On Saturday the focus is on the show jumping stars, with the highlight being the $500,000 Rolex Grand Prix CSI 5* at 7.45pm.
In the meanwhile, we make a recap of week 11: Beezie Madden clinches a stylish win in CaptiveOne Advisors Grand Prix atop of Breiting LS.
Clears in the first round were few and far between, with the first 39 starters producing only two. Many careful combinations were caught out by the yawning water jump, but the jump-off numbers were bolstered by three late clears from the final six riders.
Madden was riding Breitling LS, a quick and careful 12-year-old stallion son of Quintero, who was clocking up his second grand prix win of the season — the first having been in the $205,000 CSIO4* Grand Prix, presented by Lugano Diamonds, in WEF 8. 
This was Breitling’s final prep before going to Paris for the World Cup Finals. The American rider knew Wellington was a big field class, but the grass and a different venue helped keep her horse feeling fresh and feeling good. Breitling actually goes well when he’s in a good mood, so she was just trying to keep him happy ahead of Paris.
Behind Beezie Madden was one of the promising stars standing out at WEF, Daniel Coyle, who also won the CSI 5* Grand Prix in week 9 with Cita. 
Third place was Richie Moloney on 13-year-old Freestyle de Muze by Lord Z.
