World Singles Driving Championship: Cividini rides to bronze!
The Italy Team had never managed such a good result in the World Singles Driving Championships. The Auzzurri managed an excellent bronze medal that is as good as gold for the Equestrian Federation in the peninsula. Cristiano Cividini was the real star of the show for the Italians at the Pratoni del Vivaro. He matched his early performances in the Championships and held his own against some top level opposition to take third place in the very last race of the event. He was only beaten by the German of Polish origin Thorsten Zarembowicz (with a score of 119.05) and the excellent Polish rider Bartlomiej Kwiatek (with a score of 122.68) who was the only rider to finish without any penalties.Cividini thus finished his brilliant week with a total score of 126.16 – way ahead of the former World Champion Jan van den Broeck who finished down in 11th place. Cividini’s outstanding result means Italy finished 7th overall in the Team Standings. The top team of the Championships was Germany, followed by Switzerland and with Austria in third.
