Bought at auction as a foal, Prince of Thieves VD Kallevallei has grown up with Egor Shchibrik, eventually reaching the competition arenas of Lanaken. The Palestinian rider shares the story of his six-year-old horse in a new episode of Avantea – A Legacy in Sport, produced in collaboration with horseshowjumping.tv.

Born in 2020 thanks to Avantea’s OPU-ICSI assisted reproduction techniques, the grey gelding is by Cornet Obolensky out of Sissi van Schuttershof, by Nabab de Reve. His pedigree also features Clinton and Heartbreaker on his sire’s side, while his dam line includes Fines van Kameren, a daughter of Tenor Manciais.

“We bought him at auction as a foal, so we’ve had him almost from the beginning,” says Egor. “He’s a horse with a lot of quality, blood and character. In the ring, he shows a lot of confidence.”

The rider also explains his approach to finding young horses: “We often look for foals and embryos. We buy foals, raise and select them, and keep the best ones for the sport.”

Prince of Thieves VD Kallevallei has already competed at a national championship. “He still has limited experience, but he has a fighter’s mentality and responds well whenever you ask him,” Egor concludes.

Ho aggiornato la grafia del nome del cavallo in base alla genealogia allegata: Prince of Thieves VD Kallevallei.

The story of Prince of Thieves VD Kallevallei follows a young horse’s journey, from his birth thanks to Avantea’s OPU-ICSI techniques to his first international competitions alongside his rider.
