A Culmination of Dutch Equestrian Passion

For over four days, the KWPN Stallion Show has stood as the pinnacle of Dutch sports and horse breeding. Scheduled to commence on January 31, 2024, this event is not just a showcase of stallions from various breeders but a celebration of the Dutch passion for equestrian excellence, and Horseshowjumping.tv will be there!

The acronym KWPN stands for “Koenigin Warmbloed Paard of Netherland” which translates to Royal Warmblood Horse of the Netherlands. This association has been at the forefront of breeding sport horses for show jumping and dressage, encompassing the Gelder breed as well. The KWPN horse is synonymous with quality, versatility, and outstanding performance across various equestrian disciplines.

KWPN Stallion Show Auction: Transparency and Success

The KWPN’s roots trace back to 1988 when it officially formed through the merger of three Dutch stud books: Nederlandse Rijpaarden en Pony Stamboek (NRPS), Koninklijk Warmbloed Paardenstamboek Nederland (KWPN), and Nederlands Warmbloedpaard (NWP). Despite being a relatively young breeding program globally, the Netherlands has rapidly transformed its horse industry from primarily agricultural and carriage horses to a highly competitive sport horse breeding powerhouse.

Known for its meticulous selection process, the KWPN focuses on traits such as athleticism, temperament, versatility, and correct conformation. This careful breeding has resulted in international success, with KWPN horses achieving significant victories in dressage and show jumping competitions, including Olympic championships and other prestigious events.

‘s-Hertogenbosch Hosts: An Annual Showcase of Excellence

The annual KWPN Stallion Show in ‘s-Hertogenbosch is a highlight for horse enthusiasts, featuring approved KWPN breeding stallions. This event is not just a showcase but an opportunity for buyers worldwide to find the right horse, with assistance provided in transportation, breeding, and insurance.

One remarkable aspect of the KWPN Stallion Show is the auction, where breeders have successfully sold foals, young stallions, and pregnant mares. Transparency, KWPN inspector evaluations, and veterinary checks contribute to the success of these auctions. The KWPN aims to support its members in selling their horses, emphasizing the importance of quality and trust.

Buyer’s Journey and Post-Auction procedures: Registration, Bidding, Winning, and Contracts

Prospective buyers can participate in the auction by registering on the website www.kwpn.auction/register. The auction process is transparent, with current and upcoming bids displayed on each horse’s page. The closing time is pre-set, and if a bid is placed in the final 5 minutes, the closing time extends by 3 minutes. The auction fees for the buyer amount to 10%.

The winning bid secures the foal or horse for the highest bidder, confirmed via email immediately after the auction. Following payment receipt, KWPN facilitates a delivery contract between the buyer and seller, ensuring a smooth transition.

Delivery Logistics: Ensuring a Smooth Transition

Delivery of foals is possible from the age of 5 months, with sellers responsible for delivering within the Netherlands’ borders. Larger horses must be collected from the seller’s stable. All auctioned foals and horses are not automatically insured during the auction, emphasizing the need for additional coverage.

In conclusion, the KWPN Stallion Show and its associated auctions embody the Dutch commitment to producing top-quality sport horses, reflecting the nation’s journey from a traditional horse culture to a global leader in equestrian excellence. The success of these events lies not only in the exceptional breeding standards but also in the transparent and supportive services provided by the KWPN.
