Nicole Lockhead Anderson and Vogue TW, a British win in yesterday’s big class

Luca Moneta has a great day; third in this class with Knock Out, and winning the 1.35 with Chilli 41

Vejer, 26th January 2024. And we are back in business yesterday at Montenmedio as the second week of the XXX Andalucía Pre Sunshine Tour starts up. The event is sponsored by the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sports of the Government of Andalucía, through Tourism and Sports of Andalucía.

Nicole Lockhead Anderson has just arrived and yesterday,  with the eight year old mare, ‘Vogue TW’ (‘Vivant Van de Heffink’ x ‘Conthargos’), owned by Emily Sage; she started off her time really well by winning the 1.40m big class, in the Milton arena. This pair  stopped the clock in 57.12s to win the class, beating a triplet of Italians that took the next three places.  Camilla Vittadini was second with ‘Danube de Hus’ in 57.21s; Luca Moneta, third with ‘Knock Out’ in 57.33s and in fourth was Stefano Nogara, with ‘ESI Everest’. Fifth was German rider, Jens Baackmann with ‘Caprice 503’.

Luca Moneta continued his great results, winning the 1.35 with ‘Chilli 41’, their third victory so far there at Montenmedio. Second in the class was Spanish rider, Pilar Cordón Muro with ‘Missouri Van’t Ruytershof’, and Pilar also took fifth place with‘Noblesse du Palis’. In third was Swiss rider, Charlotte Fievet with ‘Erdeven du Tertre’ and fourth was Nicole Lockhead Anderson, this time with ‘Chinoubet PS’.

There was a British win in the 1.30 CSI2* from Alfie Bradstock and ‘Bigstar Derick’.  Spanish rider, Pedro Mateos Bernáldez with ‘Naroby Van de Fruitkorf’ was second and Austrian, Christoph Obernauer with ‘Kleaons Samarant’ was third.

In the Young Horses,  7yr olds, ‘Cornet’s Lover’ ridden by Rogier Linssen (NED) were the winners followed by ‘Balthargos PS’ ridden by local Spanish rider, Alejandro Fernández Sánchez; Third was ‘Radjamerci Van de Vlasbloemhoeve’ ridden by British, James Wilson.

The 6yr olds was FnoT class, and 16 horses went clear, as was the 5yr olds, wthere tthere were just seven clears for them to add to their overall tally.

Jumping continues tomorrow with seven classes, one of which is a 1.45 qualifier for the FEI, Longines Rankings.
