Trelawny Trailblazers Shine in the CSI5* MLSJ Team Competition at Desert Holiday 1

In the penultimate event of the 2024 Major League Show Jumping (MLSJ) season, the Trelawny Trailblazers emerged victorious in the $200,000 CSI5* MLSJ Team Competition, held on Friday evening at the Desert International Horse Park in Thermal, California. Thanks to a solid and strategic performance, the Trailblazers, represented by Natalie Dean, Lillie Keenan, and Conor Swail, claimed the gold medal and gained crucial points, moving up to third place in the overall team standings.

A Determined and United Team

The road to victory was not without its challenges for the Trailblazers. In the first round, the team faced some difficulties, with both Swail and Keenan incurring a rail down. “The first round didn’t go as planned,” admitted Swail. However, Natalie Dean delivered an exceptional performance aboard Oasis van de Bucxtale, keeping the team in contention and securing their qualification for the second round among the top four teams.

In the decisive phase, the Trailblazers showed their full potential. Dean, riding Oasis van de Bucxtale, alongside Keenan on Kick On and Swail on Casturano, delivered clear rounds, clinching victory for their team.

A Thrilling Competition

The evening was not only a triumph for the winners but also a thrilling spectacle for the audience. The competition, part of the Desert Holiday 1 and presented by ClipMyHorse.TV, featured eight teams in the first round, with four advancing to the final phase. “The competition is incredibly exciting, both for competitors and spectators,” Swail said.

With only one week remaining in the season, the battle for the top spot in the MLSJ standings is heating up. “At least four teams are capable of winning next week. We have a very strong team,” Swail added.

Looking Ahead

The final stage of the Major League Show Jumping season promises to be exhilarating, with the best teams vying for the championship title. The Trailblazers, now firmly in third place, have proven they have what it takes to compete at the highest level.
